The makers of Squid Game drop a special teaser of season 2 on social media, giving a peek into how Player 456 played by Lee Jung-jae returns to the game. In the previous season, he wins the game and a whopping prize money while escaping death. In the end, he is about to take a flight but doesn’t take it when he finds out that there will be another game. Player 456 aka Seong Gi-hun gave up going to the States and came back with a new resolution in his mind.
Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who made history at the 74th Primetime Emmys becoming the first Asian to win Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, once again helms the series as director, writer, and producer.

Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo reprise their roles from Season 1. The series also comes with an impeccable list of new cast members including Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul. Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim. Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an round out the ensemble of colourful characters in the new season.
